This is pretty amazing! Take a look at this series of images from WiseGEEK showing all different sorts of food (natural, processed, fresh, artificially flavored, etc) in 200 calorie measurements. Some images were amazing--both good and bad.
I'm placing this rave review of Cuties here instead of in the recipe section because, well, it's just not a recipe! Cuties aka. Clementines are pretty much the most amazing snack/dessert ever. They're quick, mess-free and I love that I can eat them easily while sitting behind my computer at work. Two of these little babies only costs you 80 measly calories. Most people don't really need to count their calories if they're going vegan (and not substituting in any vegan-junk, yes, you know what I mean!) but if you do, you're in for a treat. Let's say you don't just want to peel and eat for a snack, while stuck in traffic, to feed your screaming child--or whatever, here are some fab-o recipes for you!
Yep, it's true--this is a trend, and I'm on-board with it. I don't think it's a bad thing at all to commit to being healthy and "mostly" vegan. The point is that you are being healthy, right? So let's not get our salad spinner in a jam. Instead, let's praise one another for wanting to make a great move toward healthy living, regardless of the percentage of our meals it affects. While reading this article on "Is it time to go vegan?" I came across this link to a "Vegan Before 6" article. Both are very interesting, but the VB6 got me thinking about today's point of "healthy comes in many forms." It's really about what works for you as an individual. As long as you are making personal strides to living a healthier, happier and kinder life, then everyone else should be supportive--yes, even that angry aunt or questionable neighbor who lingers too long outside your house during her daily walk...you know the one. I know I'm okay with this, but are you? I can't tell you I'm totally surprised...well, there was a little nugget of shock when I realized that not only is Steve-O vegan, but that he tries to spread the veggie gospel as much as possible. I'm super stoked that his support for healthy living is out there and he is toting his love for a plant based lifestyle to all of his fans/followers. He even has a few quick and simple recipe ideas. *Impressed* Image courtesy of Forbes.com I think it's safe to say that green tea is amazing for you and we all know that. I was perusing a lovely blog last night (while enjoying an aforementioned tasty treasure (pictured)) and stumbled across some valuable information. I thought I'd post for you to see--definitely hard keeping gems like this to myself. Among other things this natural drink helps lower blood pressure, fight different types of cancer and promote longevity. Read all 10 Health Benefits here at the One Green Planet blog.
