Hummus and all of its variations can get rather "blah" after a while. When it's time to spice things up in your dip repertoire, you may want to try something like this Black-Eyed Pea Dip. This recipe is especially "garlicky". So if you're looking for a more mild garlic flavor, you will want to cut down on the garlic or just eliminate.
Ingredients
1-15oz can Black-Eyed Peas
Juice of 1 lemon
1 jalapeno, seeded
1 Tbs tahini
4 Tbs water
2 garlic cloves
onion powder
salt and pepper, to taste
Directions
In a blender or food processor combine all of the ingredients. Pulse until smooth. Add more water or lemon juice if the dip is too thick for your taste. Check for seasonings and serve with some sliced cucumbers, carrots, pita chips or whatever you love most with hummus and your new, fancy dip!
